24h Christian web video contest!

I was going to add a little "add" to the side bar on my blog here, however I can't figure out how, so it gets a blog post instead! This is a contest held by Christian Film Makers .org, by far one of my favorite sites out there. I frequently post on their forums. I highly recommend them for any of you Christian film makers out there.

I hope to enter, and thought I would suggest you consider it as well! A fast deadline like this is a good way to hone ones skills.

Satellites

One part of the Amazing math script calls for satellites, and the sun to reflect off of some of the panels and not others.  The kids (aka stars of the show) can then count the lit panels with the subatizing technique.
I have the solar panels reflecting nicely now; however, I am going to have to be creative to find a way to get only the panels I want lit (if you have any ideas please let me know!).

Domino Hill

Here is some more work I have done for the Amazing Math videos.  This is the ruins on top of Domino Hill.  I made the grass using the technique in this tutorial.
For the ground it is also very basic: I made a mesh, Subdivided it a couple of times, raised and lowered some points, clicked Fractal a few times at 10, and voila! Hills!

Celtx

We originally started writing our script in Apple Works (Once known as Claris Works), a good program even if it was discontinued years ago; however, after 5 years of formating scripts myself, I have decided it is time to make the leap to script software. And not just script write software, but a project manager. We have decided to move to Celtx for our next draft, and to manage the project. I am excited about it; I have known about Celtx for a while now, just not had a good chance to use it. Makes lists, holds scripts, helps format and write scripts, makes schedules, etc. I will let you know how it works for us as we go along. Check out Celtx here: www.Celtx.com
Oh, it is free, and it is made by Canadians to boot!

Amazing Math Update

I have been making Environments for the Amazing Math project in blender, they are shaping up very nicely if I do say so myself! I think this video will end up having a very nice epic feel to accompany all that learning!

Amazing Math Beginnings

After a few brain storming sessions we finally have an idea of what our next project will be, Amazing Math. The priorities being, can be made very fast (in a short time frame), on very limited resources, and will be marketable to a much larger market than the Amazing Map.  However, it also must be fun to make and watch, so we have a high emphasis on story.

I am excited with what we have. This project will have an adventure feel (think Indiana Jones, National Treasure, etc. without the bad guys), and I will be using my new-found blender skills to create many of the environments.

Blender meats Escort Wing

Worked on some spaceships, modeled after one of my favorite 2D games, Escort Wing.

Blender Beginnings

I have been learning Blender, and it is coming along nicely I think. Here are some of the things I have done!
